From 10$ to 2.7 million in 20 years ...
From a number company purchased in 1983 and incorporated in their name in 1985, David and Mary Picken have developed a company that has become, in less than 20 years, one of the largest dealers of agricultural and forestry machinery of all Eastern Townships. Picken's Farm Equipment began humbly in obtaining the franchise of Zetor tractors which they believed in, ten (10) dollars in the bank, a good mechanic and a lot of courage. Today, their company has an annual turnover of $ 2.7 million. Eleven employees (mostly bilingual) work with them full time, among which the first mechanic who remained faithful to them.
"I had great confidence in the quality of Zetor tractors, says David Picken, and I was right. I have not been disappointed. Today I have clients who have up to 5 Zetor ..." The secret of their success lies in the countless hours of work that him and his wife Mary have made into their business, including customer service which is one of their first quality. "I'm Mr. Service!" He laughs. And his wife Mary, who is also secretary and chief accountant, says "Everything you need, we have it ... and if we do not have it immediately, we'll find it quickly."
